March 12, 2009, Sudbury, MA—Jones and Bartlett LLC today announced the acquisition of CDX Global, a fast growing and innovative provider of flexible and interactive e-learning training programs for automotive students and corporations worldwide. The acquisition of CDX Global further strengthens Jones and Bartlett’s position as a leading education company dedicated to improving learning outcomes by increasing student engagement and performance through personalized learning. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Based in Brisbane, Australia, CDX Global experienced explosive growth over the last two years in response to increasing market demand for proven, effective e-learning solutions focused on vocational and skill-based training. Currently, CDX Global has partnered with more than 3,000 learning organizations worldwide including colleges, vocational schools, private training institutions, US state-wide training agencies and province-wide training centers including the Ontario Ministry of Education and the Manitoba Department of Education & Training. In addition, CDX Global serves a growing base of corporate customers such as Shell, Advance Auto Parts, Ford Australia, and PEP Boys.
The recently released CDX Plus Online 5.0 gained market-share dominance with its distinctive approach to enhancing learning outcomes for automotive learners using a “Know-See-Do-Prove” instructional model that starts by identifying clear and specific learning goals and ends with summative evaluations. With over 850 highly engaging procedural and demonstration videos, hundreds of practice tests, knowledge checks and final exams that correspond to leading certification exams, CDX Plus Online 5.0 puts the student at the center of the learning experience. CDX’s inclusion of a complete online textbook, along with assessment, study-plan and reporting features provide valuable benefits and cost-savings over traditional textbook learning.
The CDX learning model enables instructors, administrators and corporations to customize the assessment tools and content for specific learning needs. CDX provides Automotive Service Technicians with an effective way to earn Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification and helps states meet guidelines for federal funding approval—especially new funding sources recently made available through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
“Around the world CDX is reaching today’s students in a way no other program can. Our students are digital natives who enjoy learning with CDX, get better grades with CDX, and teachers love the administrative support that CDX delivers,” said Paul Fraser, Director of Strategic Relationships for CDX. “We are excited to be part of the Jones and Bartlett team and will continue to deliver on our shared vision of improving learning outcomes through technology.”
Through this acquisition, Jones and Bartlett plans to build on the demonstrated success of the CDX Global e-learning platform and expand its range of educationally-effective assessment tools and content delivery options for students, faculty and education institutions worldwide. In addition to CDX Global, Jones and Bartlett acquired 12 additional complimentary businesses over the past 14 months to broaden its range of content and technology-based solutions that enrich individual learning experiences, improve learning outcomes and ensure student success in healthcare, science and technology, and career education markets.
“With its state-of-the-art online learning system, the acquisition of CDX Global represents an attractive enhancement to our business. CDX’s proven e-learning delivery platform can be efficiently leveraged for use across the education, assessment, certification and professional training markets.” said Clayton E. Jones, Chief Executive Officer of Jones and Bartlett.
